It boggles the mind, 5,000 pounds of Crawfish. What does one do with them and how many people does that feed exactly?

They are cookin’ up over 20,000 lbs. of cajun mudbugs! Ay-Yee! Plus the Crawfish Cookoff the second Saturday. This is where the locals competed for cash, the coveted Budweiser Trophies, and bragging rights! Then a select group of MudBug Experts taste all the entries and through a points-system determine the Judge’s Championship.

These are three of the festivals I have found. There are of course others. Personally I have never eaten a crawfish,, so I am not quite sure what all the fuss is about. However I did notice that these festivals have a lot of other fun activities going on. such as Cajun food and music, that I love.
So for those of your who cannot make it to the festivals or are not around one. Crawfish season is from late February to mid-May.
